Rocourt Barracks dismantling of Belgian Vipers

In the summer of 2005 the Belgian airforce organized  a final salute to 29 of its F16's which had been in longterm storage at Weelde AFB for several years who now where being dismantled at Rocourt to gain much needed spareparts which are hard to come by these days. The Belgian airforce is renowned for organising events especially for spotters and this was no exception for that matter. It was a sad sight to see that much aircraft being returned to scrapmetal. As I write this report now(2007) we can say that some of them have found a new home like the FA 46(Milmort) FA16(Kleine Brogel) FA18(Beauvechain) and I know there are a couple more saved.
